Site-specific sculptural installations, mixed media and found objects, 2022
Guideposts (2016–2022) investigates what I call the “institutional aesthetic” — the improvised, makeshift visual language of Cairo’s public spaces and government buildings. Each sculpture is built from pipes, wires, bulbs, and found objects; deliberately excessive, but retaining an underlying logic. This solo exhibition at Medrar for Contemporary Art in Cairo brought together a selection of works from the body of work.
